TBDPITL Top 25 Post Bowl Ballot

Rampageripster

1) Utah - You are undefeated and beat the team that was #1 for a loooong time by more than the BCS NC, you get my vote
2) Florida - You won a offesively sloppy game, way to go Gator D
3) Texas - Won the Fiesta Bowl by 3 inches.  So much for a blowout…
4) Oklahoma - Bradford, leave, this team will not be this good again
5) USC - Sanchez was a BEAST
6) Ohio State - Lost the Fiesta Bowl by 3 inches.  So much for a blowout…
7) Alabama - Don't be embarassed Tide fans, there were very few teams that could have beaten the Utes that night
8) TCU - Ok, I'm sold on the MWC
9) Penn State - So much for the dream season…
10) Ole Miss - From unranked to top 10, I've been wrong before
11) Oregon - OK St was a legit team, would've liked to see some D though…
12) Texas Tech - PLAY SOME FRICKIN DEFENSE
13) Georgia - You should not have won that game, the Buckeyes would have killed you if they hadn't gotten the BCS at large
14) Boise St - Thank god they lost, I think the SEC has some competition for whiny fans.
15) Viginia Tech - good win, but you still have no QB
16) Oklahoma St - Oregon played them right, and gave everyone else the blueprints on how to beat the B12 south
17) Georgia Tech - Man, did you guys let me down…
18) Cincinnati - The Big East is aweful
19) Missouri - I moved you up out of principle, but N'western???  REALLY??
20) N'western - Well done Wildcats, have your kicker work on PAT's
21) Oregon St - won by far the most boring game of the Bowl season.  3-0, that's not football, that's hockey
22) Michigan St - COME ON!!!  ARRRRGG, you couldn't finish off a struggling UGA team.  19 plays in their end and only like 10 yrds to show for it, disgusting
23) Tulsa - well, the C-USA is better than the MAC……
24) Iowa - Greene is a BEAST, thanks for getting the B10 at least one win…
25) LSU - I give you guys mad props, I did not think you could pull that one out, and you did, in impressive fashion.

TBDPITL Top 25 Week 15 Ballot

I'M BACK!!!!!  DONE WITH FINALS!!! WOOOOOOO!!!! ok, now to the hard stuff.  Since I really haven't had a poll for the past three weeks, I am going to do something completely, different, I am throwing out my old polls, and doing everything from scratch.  Nothing matters anyway except for this one, so here we GO…

Rampageripster

1) Oklahoma - Has anyone been THIS dominant since a close loss…
2) Florida - The answer to the question above.
3) Alabama - Close loss to the #2 team, that works

5) Penn State - Beat the near Pac10 champ BAD.
6) Texas Tech - Only loss is to the #1 team, 'nough said
7) USC - Sure, they beat #10 tOSU, bad, but what else? crickets crickets, precisely
8) Utah - You are undefeated, I have mad respect, but the MWC is not impressive to me, if BYU, TCU, and Utah win or are at least competitive in all their games, I will reconsider

10) Ohio State - The best 2 loss team in the country, believe me, I see a lot of them.
11) Oklahoma St - This team lost to #1, #4, and #6, come on.
12) Georgia Tech - Watch this team whip the crap out of LSU

19) Pitt - Way to pull out the backyard brawl ye porn staches
20) N'western - could they get there secon ever 10 win season?

22) Boston College - You get to a BCS champ game, you deserve to be ranked which leads to…
23) Missouri - I almost didn't rank you, but you shoulda beaten Kansas, and you did take care of business, unlike a lot of teams.
24) Ball St - SOOOOOO close, but geeze Cards, Buffalo????  Man, that was bad

and last but not least…

25) East Carolina - That is right, they beat the ACC champ, the BE runner up and ended up winning the C-USA.  Excellent season Pirates!  You should be very proud.

A Realistic look at the rest of tOSU's season

The first post didn't work, let's try this again.

There has been a lot of speculation about this year's Buckeye team. Some has been ridiculous, on both extremes. I have heard everything from pounding PSU to losing out. So, here is an honest Buckeye perspective, cause who really knows my team better than a student that has been to every game minus one this season? So without further ado…

@ Michigan St.

A trip to East Lansing is a scary thing. Sparty likes flying a bit under the radar this year. Having recovered from an early season nail-bitter against Cal, MSU has developed quite a nice running attack with a serious Heisman quality HB in Ringer. That being said, I don't buy for a second that this team has a serious passing game. N'western was a nice story, but beat up on nobodies, so I don't think we can use that game to asses the Spartan's passing game. Similar to White at WVU putting ridiculous passing #'s on 'Nova only to have ECU suffocate them (though not to that extreme as N'western is light years better than 'Nova)

I think the Buckeyes win if three things happen. First they stack the box and dear Sparty to throw on this outstanding secondary. This comes with a clause. We stop playing this dumb canopy defense. QB's are given the easy out because the curs and outs are WIDE OPEN. I know we want to prevent the big play, which we have done fairly well outside of USC, but let these corners get physical. If that happens, this MSU offense will struggle. Second, run, run, then run some more on first down. Get doable 3rd downs. 3rd and 3 is perfect for our playbook. 3rd and 10 is not. 3rd and 3 gives Pryor a chance to really be athletic. Third, let Pryor loose a bit. It looked like Tressel tried to reign him in a bit during the Purdue game. I think that comes from the large sacks he gave up against Wisc because he didn't get rid of the ball. If Pryor is allowed to be more dimensional, this offense will start to gain momentum.

Final - tOSU 28 MSU 7

v. Penn St

Here is the big boy. This is the de facto B10 championship for PSU (tOSU has another big test later as I will mention). They should be riding high after demolishing scUM and ending that ridiculous streak the wolverpuppies had over them. I think we all know how dangerous and multi-dimensional this Nittany Lion offense is. I think that we can all assume that they will put up at least 20 points, and around 28 is a reasonable number. I think where this will be won is on the D-line. If tOSU can get pressure, they may be able to pull the old bend-but-don't-break defense that was made famous in 2002. If they can hold the Lion O to field goals, that will give this Buckeye O some confidence. On the other hand, if the D-line doesn't get pressure, Clark will have a field day running and driving the LB's crazy. The secondary is good, but can't cover these speedy receivers forever. On the other side of the ball, if the Buckeye O-line steps up and gives Pryor time and Beanie holes, this offense will be able to gin momentum. I think the key may actually be the play of the receivers. I don't think the O-line will be able to contain this tough D-line like they would like, so it is essential that this so far-underachieving WR corps makes the catches on short routes. Take what they give you should be policy.

Something to note. tOSU is 19-3 since 2002 against Top 25 B10 opponents and 11-1 against Top 25 opponents at home and 11-0 against B10 top 25 at home. They simply do not lose at home in conference in big games, and rarely lose big games in the B10 at all.

In the end, this Nittany Lion team is not only better, but are just on a roll. Nighttime in the 'Shoe gives the Bucks an extra mental edge, but not enough to unseat the new conference champ.

Final - PSU 28 tOSU 17

@ N'western

This could be a trap game between two big matchups if the Bucks pull the upset over PSU, but I don;t see them losing this game. Beanie will have a blast with this defense and the passing game will get a nice breath of fresh air. I don't see N'western scoring many points, but I don't see a blow out, not really Tressels' style

FInal - tOSU 28 N'western 7

@ Illinois

Good lord I am scared of this game. I am scared of what Juice can do to this defense. The LB's and D-line need to STEP UP. If they do, this game is over quick, cause tOSU will score in this game. People seem to forget what a game that Mizzou game turned into. That plus a game in Champagne leads me to think that this could be upset material. In the end, tOSU wins with the secondary making the plays, what is new?

Final - tOSU 21 Illinois 17

v. M!ch*g@n

This is going to be ugly people, really ugly. This scUM offense looks anemic. Expect Beanie to be the focal point of the offense and break some rivalry records, again. On the defensive side of the ball, it all starts with stopping the running game, which is the only thing the wolverpuppies might find success with. Mcguffy is the type of back that this Buckeye D has trouble with. But, in the end, this turns into the most lopsided loss for scUM in this game in quite a while.

Final - tOSU 35 scUM 10 (I love that score:P)

Let me know what you think. It's a lot to read, but it took a lot of thought. Your input would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

TBDPITL Week 7 Ballot

Rampage's Week 7 Ballot

1. Texas - Wow, you impressed me Longhorns, McCoy immediately moves up to the top of everyone's heisman ballot

2. Alabama - sucks to be idle eh?

3. Penn State - The demolished an already beaten Badger team, Wiscy lost that game a week ago when Jenkins got that pick. B10 will comedown to the Nittany Lions and Buckeyes.

4. Brigham Young - keep winning games Cougs, just keep winning games

5. Southern California - was there any doubt that they weren't the class of the Pac10?

6. Florida -well done gators, welcome back to the top 10

7. Oklahoma St - only teams with better resumes are Texas and arguably Bama

8. Texas Tech - STILL the highest ranked team to have accomplished pretty much nothing, and they almost lost to NEBRASKA, someone beat them quick so I can drop them to 20

9. Oklahoma- sorry guys, you have to spend your week near the bottom of the top 10, I fully expect you to rebound, that was a heck of a game

10. Ohio State - Can we have an offensive TD please? maybe?

11. Georgia - a win is a win is a win, and they need em bad

12. Louisiana State - came out so flat-footed after the bye week, now have quite a bit of work to do to catch Bama in the West.

13. Boise State - is anyone going to touch them in the WAC?

14. Missouri- was the OK St D that good, or has this high powered O hit a snag?

15. Kansas - much better, put ISU behind you, especially after seeing how badly Baylor beat them, ouch

16. North Carolina - best team in the ACC

17. Virginia Tech - idle

18. Utah - Keep winning, you've got your premier games later against TCU, AFA, and BYU

19. Georgia Tech - please beat Gardner-Webb by more! I am sticking my neck for you here!

20. Wake Forest - good in conference win, no matter their record, Clemson is never an easy one

21. South Florida - idle

22. Vanderbilt - Biggest win in program history, followed by a great collapse, then again, Auburn is not the team everyone seemed to think they were

23. Michigan St - Welcome back, long time no see Sparty, though I am thinking you won;t be here for long as the Buckeyes come to town this week

24. Ball St - will you look at that, the fighting Cardinals are 7-0. What is the over and under they make the BCS? Probably not good after their big BCS conference win, Indiana, got abused by Iowa 45-9, ouch x2

25. Minnesota - Looky here, the Gophers go into Champagne and have themselves some fresh Illini meat. Only loss is to the #10 Buckeyes

Just missed cut - Tulsa, Oregon, Cincy, Pitt, WVU

New Arrivals - Mich St, Ball St, Minnesota

Dropped Out - Wisconsin, Auburn, Illinois

I have nothing for POW or Heisman, due to my responsibilities running the student section at Ohio State and school work, I don't feel as though I can judge these well enough. Getting a solid top 25 teams is pretty much the limits of my abilities.
